Children's Music Ministry

Children’s choirs at FPC are taught in a fun, Christian environment with several opportunities to sing for worship and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in various venues including full musical productions. All choirs are given the opportunity to sing with members of the Houston Symphony.

Angel Choir (3 year olds), 10:45 - 11:15

This choir discovers the rudiments of instrumental playing through the use of Orff instruments. Children learn under the Kodaly approach of "materials and methods" focusing on intonation, movement, rhythm, ear training and listening. The choir sings for Worship on occasion and participates in the Christmas Eve Service. Director, Kathy Brown

Cherub Choir (4 year olds), 10:45 - 11:15

Joyful Sound (grades K - 1st),  11:35- 12:15, CE 248

This choral group focuses on skill development in the areas of vocal technique, instrumental ensemble, beginning choreography and creative arts. The group sings for Worship regularly throughout the year and is featured in the Christmas Eve program. This choir will attend Area Choristers Guild Festivals and present a small musical at the end of the year. Director, Sarah Malin

Alleluia Choir (grades 2nd – 5th), 11:35 - 12:15, CE 240

This choir focuses on skill development in the areas of vocal technique, instrumental ensemble, intermediate choreography and creative arts. This group presents the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Worship throughout the year at FPC and in the greater Houston community, and is featured in the Christmas Eve Service and presents a major musical at the end of the year.
