Wednesdays beginning January 13, 6:30 p.m., FH 259
Biblical teachings, a job transition workshop and practical steps to your job search come together with your participation to lead you to the "next right steps" in your career path. Topics covered are overview and objectives, testing and application using the Birkman, a value profile instument, ideal job description, interviewing skills, resumes and networking. This class is interactive and powerfully charged by the very Spirit of God. One of the amazing results of the first session was the support each member gave to each other in the spirit of Christ. The class is led by Tom O'Neil, FPC elder and career coach, and JoNell Gerland, Bible teacher. Register below or call the Caring Ministry, 713-620-6546.

Testimonials

Being stuck in a dead end job or finding new work after a layoff is challenging, and can be downright depressing at times. Knowing yourself truly, deeply, and inside out is imperative to finding new work. Defining your own personal skills, then using the knowledge to find and fill the needs of potential employers will make you more valuable in the workforce marketplace and help you secure a position that is deeply satisfying to you and your family. One way to make the process swifter and (dare I say) enjoyable is to join the next session of Righteous Callings. I was a participant in the inaugural first session. While there, I built lasting relationships with others that lifted my spirits, and learned things about myself that have helped my job search immeasurably. It has also given me the chance to help others on the same road to employment. Please make the decision to participate. It will benefit you and your family, both now and in the future.

Very positive experience with Righteous Callings.

The biggest benefit was making all the contacts both in the original class in Spring of 2009 and the Fall 2009 one also. Many of us have stayed in contact into the new year and have been able to help each other in our job searches or in connecting people with positions or people that we are in contact with.

Highly recommend taking the Birkman test as it gave both a different perspective on personality tests and reinforced what I consider my strengths. Sticking though the entire series is very important, otherwise the entire roadmap does not connect. Tom acts as a great guide through each week. That is why I took the class twice.
