FPC Houston Worship Services Service of Wholeness 8:15 a.m., Chapel This service, held quarterly, offers personalized prayers for healing and comfort, anointing and laying on of hands, and Communion. Authorized by the Session according to our Book of Order, this service also includes Scripture reading and hymns. Service of Praise & Worship 8:15 a.m.,Sanctuary A casual service featuring lively praise music with a familiar spirit, is led by the Sanctuary Singers and First Praise!, a five-piece instrumental jazz ensemble. This celebratory service also includes an opportunity for the children to receive their own special message while gathered on the steps of the Chancel. Traditional Worship Services 9:30 & 10:45 a.m.,Sanctuary The same sermon text offered at the 8:15 service is proclaimed at these more formal and traditional worship services. The Sanctuary resonates with the sounds of the pipe organ and the Chancel Choir, who offer up the great hymns and anthems of the Church. 11:05 Service 11:05 a.m.,Grand Hall All ages unite to experience God's love in a non-traditional environment led by the 11:05 worship band. Videos and multimedia presentations are often part of this celebration. Casual attire. Arabic Christian Fellowship Noon, Chapel, in Arabic The Rev. Eid (pronounced “eed”) Hanna comes to First Presbyterian, Houston from the Presbyterian Church in Egypt. He, his wife Devine, and little girl Rose are excited about their new adventure in Houston. The service includes singing, praying, Scripture readings and sermons — all in Arabic.
Thai Fellowship 12:30 p.m., Chapel Held in the Chapel, this service is led in both Thai and English by a faithful group of Thai believers who welcome one and all to worship together. (FPC member Wm. Emory Glover offers sermons in English.) A Thai lunch is served following the service.
